Faith Mangope (born 7 November 1986) is a South African broadcaster, business owner, and entrepreneur. She is best known for hosting “Talk with Faith Mangope” on Metro FM from Mondays to Thursdays.

The former Sunrise anchor worked the graveyard shift at Talk Radio 702. She was also recognised as one of Mail & Guardian’s 2022 Power of Women and inducted as a Washington Fellow.

Early Life

Faith Mangope was born on 7 November 1986. She hails from rural Nelspruit, in Mpumalanga, and is the eldest of four children.

Her mother and her stepfather raised her and her siblings. Coming from an average home, she had to borrow R40 in high school to buy electricity for her family. After her stepfather left, she started providing for her three siblings and her mother.

Education

Mangope went to Sandringham High School. She studied international relations and industrial psychology at the University of the Witwatersrand. She also attended the University of Texas at Austin.

Career

Faith Mangope ventured into broadcasting while helping her friend with a radio audition. She was spotted at Wits University during an international relations lecture that got cancelled. She was helping her best friend actually audition at Primedia Broadcasting.

She participated in U.S. President Barack Obama’s Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders summit as one of 500 Africans. She was also selected to introduce the former president at his White House address.

Mangope is the founder of the Faith Mangope Technology and Leadership Institute, which is dedicated to addressing the digital skills gap in South Africa. She also founded the media and public relations corporation FTA Media Communications.

She also founded the mobile platform New G App to help graduates access job opportunities. She is a co-founder of the tech solutions company FMTALI-Tech.

Mangope was an executive producer of The John Robbie Show during her time at Talk Radio 702 and Early Breakfast with Udo Carelse. She was a contributor on the “Afternoon Drive with David O’Sullivan” show on Talk Radio 702 and hosted “Talk At Nine”.

In 2014, the Department of Arts and Culture appointed her to serve as one of South Africa’s Social Cohesion Advocates.

In May 2017, Mangope joined Massiv Metro as senior producer; within three months, she was promoted to head of programming in August. She became the station manager in January. She was a host on The South African Morning and Sunrise on eNCA.

Faith Mangope was the host of the South African Civil Aviation Authority National Aviation Gender Summit 2025 and the Nedbank Purpose Storytelling Campaign Launch 2025.

She also hosted the AFI Cape Town Fashion Week 2024 and the Johannesburg Stock Exchange’s 23rd Annual Spire Awards in 2025.

Aside from being a media personality, Faith has plans to turn commercial spaces into low-cost housing opportunities. She bought her first house, a three-bedroom apartment in Greenstone Ridge, and has a second property. She acquired another property, a five-bedroom, six-bathroom home, during the Level 5 lockdown.

Faith has been inducted as a Washington Fellow and was solicited to intern in Africa.Co, making her the first South African. She is a member of the BRICS Business Council Skills Working Group.

Mangope worked as a lecturer for radio production at Interface Talent Management. She delivered a speech at the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders summit in the USA.

She is a solicited speaker for the Malawi Institute of Chartered Accountants Conference in Malawi. She hosted the Miss South Africa 2025 media briefing.

Mangope has been featured in many publications, including Destiny Magazine, Glamour Magazine, The Sowetan Newspaper, True Love Magazine, Cleo Magazine, Fairlady, Soul Magazine, Move Magazine, The Times Newspaper, and Drum Magazine.

Personal Life

Mangope is currently in a relationship. She was arrested for clocking 163 km/h in a 100 km/h driving zone on the M1 South in her grey Mercedes-Benz and released on R1000 bail.
