Ayanda Allie (born 30 July 1986) is a South African journalist, broadcaster, and politician. She is currently serving as a Member of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature for Build One South Africa (BOSA).
Allie has anchored the eNCA’s weekend morning show “Weekend Wake Up”. She hosted the SABC2 talk show “Visionaries’ Lounge” in 2015. She served as the transport minister’s spokeswoman (2019-2021).

Early Life
Ayanda Allie was born on 30 July 1986 in Dobsonville, Soweto, South Africa. Growing up, she sang in the church choir.
Education
Ayanda matriculated from Allen Glen High School in 2004. She obtained a BA Degree in communication science from the University of South Africa in 2009.
She also holds a master’s degree in public administration and an Honours Degree in Development Studies.
Career
While at the university, Allie worked as a news anchor on Rainbow FM in 2006 and at an online content provider. She was also an advertising coordinator at Now Media in 2007.
She joined Talk Radio 702 as a news anchor and traffic reporter in 2008 and left in 2010. She then worked as a news anchor for eNCA for three years. She moved from eNCA to SABC News’ Morning Live in 2013.
Ayanda hosted the seventh annual Crown Gospel Music Awards alongside Thabo Mdluli in 2014. She also hosted the SABC2 talk show “Visionaries’ Lounge” in 2015 and began hosting the eNCA morning show “Weekend Wake Up” in 2017.
Ayanda also hosts the lifestyle talk show, “Zuri”, on TBN Africa. She is also a qualified community development practitioner and the founder of Bukho Bami Youth Centre.
She was appointed as the new communications director for Mmusi Maimane’s Build One South Africa (BOSA) party in 2024. She served as a spokesperson for the Department of Transport, under the then Minister Fikile Mbalula from 2019 to 2021.
Ayanda has also ventured into music. She released her debut album, We The People, in 2023. She authored the book “How To Save a Life: Reflections of a Change Agent”.
Personal Life
Ayanda Allie married Matthew in 2006. They have two children. She has her nephew under her care. She requested to be addressed henceforth as Ayanda Allie rather than Ayanda Allie Paine on 12 August 2021.
