Andile Ncube (born 4 October 1981) is a South African television personality, radio host, and producer. He is best known for hosting the Mzansi Friday night music show LIVE.

The sportscaster appeared in shows like Young, Famous and Africa, X-Factor, The Search E! Host South Africa, Live AMP, Zaziwa, and City Ses’la. He hosts a sports show named Sports Night Amplified with Andile Ncube on Metro FM.

Early Life

Andile Ncube was born on 4 October 1981 in Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa. He is the eldest of six children. As a young child, he attended seven different primary schools all over South Africa. He finally returned to and settled in Johannesburg.

His mother, Nomsa “Nunu” Chemane, divorced his biological father when he and his siblings were young and remarried late businessman Elliot Magubane on 12 January 2007.

Education

Ncube studied Journalism at Pretoria Technikon, but it didn’t work out. After one year, he enrolled at AFDA to specialize in film and drama.

Career

Andile got his big break after auditioning at Urban Brew Studios. He has since then appeared in many television and radio shows. He hosted the SABC music show “One” and later “LIVE”. He also presented Vuyani Mzantsi for SABC2.

Andile has a passion for sport and was once part of the Ajax football academy. He started sports presentation and has hosted shows like “Soccerzone” and “Soccer 411”.

He also hosted the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa and did the Nokia Around the World Challenge for M-Net.

In 2014, Andile hosted season one of The X Factor South Africa, the SA version of the international reality competition The X Factor broadcast on SABC1. He was cast in the Netflix reality series Young, Famous & African.

As a radio presenter, Andile Ncube works at Metro FM. He hosts a sports show, Sports Night Amplified with Andile Ncube, on weekdays from 6 to 7 pm. He has also released three songs: ‘I Am Not A DJ’, ‘Freestyle’, and ‘Song For You’.

Ncube was voted among Rank Africa’s “100 most impactful Africans” for raising global awareness of Africa’s many potentials and values through the industries he represented in 2023.

Personal Life

Andile Ncube married Ayanda Thabethe in 2014. The couple divorced after two years of marriage.

Before his marriage to Ayanda, Andile dated Rosette Mogomotsi, with whom he has a daughter, Gabbie. The duo broke up and are co-parenting their daughter.

He started dating Sebabatso Mothibi in 2019 and announced that they were expecting a child in 2020. They welcomed a son, Amilailangalisabalele’amancube, but have ended their relationship. He has also been romantically linked with media personality Katlego Danke.

His stepfather, Elliot Magubane, who owned several properties and businesses in Johannesburg, passed away in 2017. He has a step-brother, Sphamandla Magubane.
