Boohle (born 20 February 1999) is a South African singer and songwriter best known for her songs “Yini Na”, “Siyathandana“, and “Hamba wena“.
Her music is a fusion of Amapiano, afro-house, afro-soul, and gospel. She collaborated with Josiah De Disciple on the album Umbuso Wabam’nyama in October 2020.

Early Life
Buhlebevangeli Hlengiwe Manyathi was born on 20 February 1999 in Vosloorus, Gauteng, South Africa. She grew up in a Christian family, and we were not allowed to listen to RnB songs. She listened to gospel artists, such as Ntokozo Mbambo.
She started singing with her sisters and at school as a child. Together with her two sisters, she founded a gospel vocal trio at the age of 14. They had no other musical genre they could emulate due to their upbringing.
She completed her primary and secondary education in South Africa.
Career
Boohle was noticed by one of the founders of Tshwane Gospel Choir in 2017. She worked with them and honed her skill of creating big and beautiful harmonies. She collaborated with Cassper Nyovest on the song “Siyathandana“, which she wrote.
The Siyathandana hitmaker was interviewed by Tbo Touch on Metro FM on 7 July 2022. She also appeared in MTV’s new reality TV series, Inside Life: City Girls Are Up, which stars other female powerhouses Thee Buhle and Bontle Smith.
Her song, Yini Na, reached number one on Yfm’s Hot 99 chart with DJ Candii. She also released “Slala Amalunde”, which made the airwaves on radio stations.
Her music is a fusion of Amapiano, Afro-house, Afro-soul, and Gospel. She won the Best Amapiano Newcomer and Best Amapiano Female Vocalist at the South African Amapiano Awards in November 2021.
Boohle released “Izibongo”, an 8-track album featuring Tee-Jay and Elastic in July 2020. She also collaborated with Josiah De Disciple on the 10-track album “Umbuso Wabam’nyama” in October 2020. She won the Female Artist of the Year at the African Social Entertainment Awards.
Her single “Ngixolele” occupied the top spot on The Official South African Charts. It also amassed thousands of streams across Spotify, Apple Music and Deezer. She released her third studio album, “Umhlobo,” on 13 June 2024.
She released two lead singles, “Mhlobo Wami” and “Nakindaba Zakho“, in May 2024. The Recording Academy, best known for the Grammy Awards, honoured her during a celebration of the Amapiano genre’s decade-long global growth in September 2024.
Personal Life
Boohle has a son named Sbusiso.
