Dineo Nchabeleng (born 31 May 1992) is a South African actress. She is best known for playing Angela Mogale on the SABC1 soap opera Generations.

Nchabeleng has also starred in movies such as Beat the Drum and My Brother The Egg. She has also appeared in tv shows such as End Game, Dream World, Thandeka’s Diary, Family Secrets, and Soul City.

Early Life

Dineo Nchabeleng was born on 31 May 1992 in Pretoria, the administrative capital of South Africa. She grew up in the East Rand and competed in school competitions that had elements of performance.

Her teacher suggested that her parents look into getting her into the entertainment industry. Her father’s friend, who worked at the SABC, helped suggest a few numbers for kids’ agencies to her parents. She got an agent and started attending auditions.

Education

Dineo completed nursery and primary schooling in the East Rand. She majored in classical music at the National School of Arts. She studied political and international relations at Wits University.

Career

Nchabeleng has been in the entertainment industry for over 20 years. She began her professional career at age 7.

Dineo then went on to present several television programs, including SABC1’s YOTV, Blue Couch, and SABC2’s School Tv. She starred as Ayanda Hlatswayo in the SABC1 political thriller mystery drama series End Game.

Nchabeleng played Dikeledi in the television drama Soul City (season 5) in 2001. She also presented YoTV’s daily current affairs actuality show Blue Couch.

She has also appeared in movies such as “My Brother the Egg” in 2000 and Christmas in Jozi. She also landed a major supporting role in the 2003 made-for-TV movie Beat the Drum.

As a voice artist, Dineo has worked with Omo, Sunlight, Coca-Cola, Isuzu, Love Life, and Sanlam. She has also appeared in magazine features: True Love magazine (2000), Drum Magazine (2004), and Star Tonight.

Dineo starred as Sli, the daughter of a boxing trainer who falls in love with his protégé, in the telenovela Ring of Lies. She played Emily, a good girl with a bit of a rough edge, in the telenovela Gold Diggers.

She appeared in the films ‘Whatever It Takes’, Mjolo Ke Pandemic, and UmshadoWethu. She played Azania, a Fees Must Fall student activist, in the Mzansi drama series Lockdown. She has also lent her voice to raise awareness about women and child abuse.

Personal Life

Dineo Nchabeleng is the mother of a daughter named Gabriela, whom she gave birth to in November 2014.
