Hungani Ndlovu (born 19 June 1994) is a South African actor and dancer best known for playing Romeo Medupe in the e.tv soap opera Scandal!.

The Tsonga actor has appeared in other productions such as Memoir of an Honest Voice and Sipho. He plays Tbose in Skeem Saam and has started his DJ experience as DJ Grizi. He is the founder of Sans Group.

Early Life

Hungani Malcolm Ndlovu was born on 19 June 1994, in Mpumalanga Province, northeastern South Africa. He comes from a Tsonga family of four and grew up in Bushbuckridge in Nelspruit. He moved to Los Angeles at 18 years old,

Education

Ndlovu trained in acting for film for 2 years at an Academy in the United States. He attended Flii’Cademy, Los Angeles, run by choreographer Chris Brown, for three months, and other open classes in LA.

Career

After spending three years in the United States, studying and working in Los Angeles and New York, he returned to South Africa. He has since then appeared in many television shows, theatre productions, and commercials.

Ndlovu has worked for top brands such as Virgin Money Insurance, Dettol, and Debonairs Pizza. He appeared in theatre productions such as A Night with Sam and A Raisin in the Sun.

In 2014, Ndlovu bagged his first credited screen role. He was cast in the short film Memoir of an Honest Voice. The film was later nominated for Best Short Film at the 2015 Africa Movie Academy Awards.

In 2016, Hungani appeared in the short film Because You’re Black. He also landed a recurring role of Romeo in the e.tv soap opera Scandal!. He returned and continued to play until he left in 2022.

Ndlovu portrayed a role in the TV movie Sipho, which aired as part of Mzansi Magic’s “Lokshin Bioskop” strand in 2018. He landed another role in the horror film The Hex.

In 2021, Ndlovu had a lead role in the short film Ring of Beasts and played a starring role as Duma in the second season of the SABC1 comedy-drama series uBettina Wethu. He was cast in another starring role as Tbose on the SABC1 soap opera Skeem Saam in 2023.

Ndlovu cofounded an NPO coaching center, ‘The Ndlovu Foundation’, to help youth achieve their goals through dancing and drama. He started the Strong Attitudes Nurture Success Group (Sans), a training facility for the performing arts. Through Sans, he has trained dancers, actors, presenters, and models.

Personal Life

Hungani Ndlovu married actress Stephanie Ndlovu in an intimate garden wedding on 23 February 2019. After six years of marriage, they announced their divorce in June 2025. They share a daughter, Rhulani, who they welcomed in June 2022.
