Lida Botha (born October 1935) is a South African actress. She is best known for appearing on TV series including Orion, Meeulanders, Manakwalanners, and Geraldina die Tweede.
Botha has appeared in many Afrikaans productions, including stage, film, radio, and television. Some of her theatre appearances include Die Van Aardes van Grootoor at Baxter Theatre in 1977 and Info Scandals at Pieter-Dirk Uys in 1979.

Early Life
Lida Botha was born in October 1935 in Namaqualand. She attended La Rochelle High School in Paarl and studied at the University of Cape Town.
Career
Lida Botha launched her acting career with regional councils PACOFS and SWAPAC in the sixties. She has appeared in many theatre productions, including Die Van Aardes van Grootoor at Baxter Theatre (1977) and Info Scandals at Pieter-Dirk Uys (1979).
She has also performed in Karnaval, My Seuns, Elsewhere Fine and Warm, En Die Son Skyn in Suid-Afrika, Op Dees Aarde, Die Proponentjie, and Pa, Maak vir my ‘n Vlieër Pa. Other acting credits include Taraboemdery, Yerma, Mattewis en Meraai, Twee Dosyn Rooi Rose, and Braaivleis (the play).
Botha performed in Braam van der Vyver’s Straties and Charles Fourie’s Vrededorp at KKNK in 2004 and 2005, respectively.
She starred with her husband in Oupa en Ouma sit op die stoep in 2009. The production was written for them and directed by Leon Kruger. The sequel Oupa en Ouma sit op die stoep en raak romanties was released in 2012.
Botha and her husband have appeared together in many TV and film productions. They are well-known at Afrikaans arts festivals for their Oupa en Ouma stories.
She has worked for the former Sukovs and Swaruk and appeared in many productions. She played the mother in Gerben Kamper’s production (for Sukovs) of Chris Barnard’s Pa maak vir mi ’n vlieger Pa.
Lida received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2016 Indie Karoo Film Festival for her contributions to the industry.
Personal Life
Lida Botha is married to fellow actor Johan Botha. Together, they founded JohanLida Produksies in 2012 to tour their theater productions.
