Tina Jaxa (born 27 October 1970) is a South African actress best known for playing Priscilla Mthembu in the soap opera Generations.
Jaxa has appeared in other productions in Isidingo, Madam & Eve, 1802: Love Defies Time, 7de Laan, 90 Plein Street, and Ashes to Ashes. She also portrayed Noma in the SABC 1 comedy-drama Makoti.

Early Life
Tina Jaxa was born on 27 October 1970 in Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa.
Career
Tina Jaxa appeared in the first-ever episode of the SABC1 soap opera Generations in 1993. She later joined the SABC3 soap opera Isidingo as Lorraine Dhlomo. She later landed a guest-starring role in Tarzan: The Epic Adventures.
After playing Lorraine in Isidingo for three years, she left and landed another role as Eve Sisulu on Madam and Eve. She has also appeared in films such as Oddball Hall, The Bird Can’t Fly, and I Now Pronounce You Black and White.
Tina won Best Supporting Actress in a Feature Film at the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Film. She has appeared in Shreds and Dreams, Isikizi, 90 Plein Street, Ashes to Ashes, Nkululeko, and Rhythm City.
In 2004, Tina returned to Isidingo. She has also appeared in many featured films such as Oddball Hall, The Bird Can’t Fly, I Now Pronounce You Black and White, Beyond Return, and Wedding.
Tina has also appeared in many theatre productions. She has played roles in Skewe Sirkel, Rygrond, and Soweto. She made her first appearance as Andiswa in the 2017 soap opera Rhythm City.
She played a role in the spin-off series “How to Ruin Love: The Proposal.” She has a company, Tina Jaxa Productions (TJP).
Tina played the sangoma in the hit comedy film I Now Pronounce You Black and White. She has won two South African Film Awards (SAFTAs) for her roles on SABC 1’s Intersexions and feature film Of Good Report.
She played Nomawonga in the Mzansi Magic telenovela 1802: Love Defies Time and a hypochondriac mother in the 2014 series Shreds and Dreams. She won a South African Film and Television Award (SAFTA) for the role.
Tina also played Mbongeni Ngema’s second wife, May Gumede, in the telenovela Gold Diggers. She played Noma in the SABC 1 comedy-drama Makoti in 2019, and stars as Pele Pele in the Mzansi Magic drama Mpondoland in 2025.
Personal Life
Tina Jaxa got married to engineer Prosper Mkwaiwa in 2000. They tied the knot in a lavish ceremony held at Usambara Wedding Village, near Krugersdorp, which reportedly cost R300,000. They had two children together.
Tina and Prosper divorced in 2015, after 15 years of marriage. After they ended the marriage, she moved to Cape Town. After nine years, she moved back to Johannesburg. Her ex-husband died of an undisclosed illness in 2015.
She was dating actor Fuzile Mahamba in 2019. She is eight years older than him. They met at the OR International Airport. She opened two cases of common assault against her son, Leeroy, at the Sophia town Police Station in Johannesburg. He had reportedly abused her physically.
