Zola Mhlongo (born 6 October 1992) is a South African actress, radio and television presenter, singer, and entrepreneur. She is best known for co-hosting Metro FM’s Weekend Breakfast Sounds Good, alongside Somizi Mhlongo.
The KZN-born star began her radio career at UCT Radio and had her breakthrough at Gagasi FM. She has appeared in shows such as How to Manifest a Man and My Brother’s Keeper.

Early Life
Zola Ayabulela Mhlongo was born on 6 October 1992 in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. She is from the Zulu tribe and loved acting and singing as a child.
After her father passed away in 2000, Zola grew up with her mother. She enjoyed drama in primary school and did it as a subject in high school.
Education
Mhlongo holds a Bachelor of Arts in drama from the University of Cape Town. She studied through the ACT DALRO Nedbank Scholarships Program.
Career
Her radio career started at the university. She worked as a newsreader for the University of Cape Town’s (UCT) radio station, UCT Radio.
After Zola graduated from school, she joined Gagasi FM, where she volunteered for a year. She honed her skills and showcased her talent. The following year, she got a contract, and she spent six years doing music shows.
The former Gagasi FM radio host has also acted in diverse roles in films and on television. She has appeared in shows such as “Ifalakhe”, “uMakoti”, “Adulting”, and “How to Manifest a Man”. From 2018 to 2019, Zola landed a lead role as Hleziphi on the soap opera Uzalo.
Zola played a role in the mini-series 365 Days, which premiered on 3 April 2023. She also played Nkosazana in My Brother’s Keeper. Her character started as a secret lover and turned into a potential second wife.
Zola returned to the radio after staying off for three years. She co-hosts the weekend breakfast show Weekend Breakfast Sounds Good from 6 to 9 on Metro FM, alongside Somizi Mhlongo. She also hosted the travel show Shay’iRound on SABC1.
The KZN-born star won an award for Best Supporting Actress for a short film, Sent, at the Simon Mabhunu Sabela KZN Film and Television Awards in July 2025.
Zola gives back to society through her foundation, LVN Foundation. She offered five young girls the opportunity to record a radio demo in 2025.
When she’s not acting or on the radio, Zola focuses on her business ventures. She is the founder and CEO of the shapewear company Undefined Shapes. She has also featured on the song Vuka.
Zola is also an influencer and has worked with brands and companies such as Lays and Uber for marketing campaigns.
Personal Life
Zola Mhlongo was dating record producer Kabelo Motsamai, aka Prince Kaybee. The duo ended the relationship in 2021 following Kaybee’s cheating. Her ex-boyfriend later issued a public apology for cheating on her.
The Metro FM radio host welcomed a son, Mmino Milani, with Prince Kaybee, on 20 October 2021. Although they have ended the relationship, they raise their child together. She resides in Johannesburg.
