Hulisani Ravele (born 23 January 1988) is a South African television presenter, radio broadcaster, and entrepreneur. She is best known for presenting YoTV on SABC1 from 2000 to 2008.
With a career spanning over 28 years, Ravele rose to prominence as a child star. She started as a presenter of Pula and Friends. She worked as a radio host at Limpopo’s Capricorn FM and co-presenter of The Vodacom Show on SABC 2.

Early Life
Hulisani Ravele was born on 23 January 1988 in Tshiawelo, Soweto, South Africa. Her father was a mechanic, carpenter, and owned a taxi. She is the youngest of three children, having an older brother and sister.
She grew up around her grandmother and cousins, and was always a loud and bubbly child. As a child, she dreamed of being a chartered accountant because she loved numbers, school, and learning.
Education
Ravele holds a BCom in Marketing from the University of Johannesburg in 2008. She also obtained an Honours degree in Bachelor of Arts in Motion Picture Medium from AFDA media school. She also enrolled as a Master’s student at the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS).
Career
Hulisani Ravele has a long-standing career in television, which started in 1997. She made her television debut as Sabrina on the SABC 1 children’s programme Pula and Friends.
At age 11, she began presenting a SABC1 youth programming block, YoTV. She left YoTV at age 20 in November 2008, after eight years. She moved to SABC1 as a trainee publicist and marketing assistant.
Ravele also did the Gig Guide for DJ Euphonik’s Sunday night show on 5FM, My House. In March 2009, she began presenting the 13-episode SABC1 game show Quiz Me, which was about municipal elections. Viewers still saw her as the young host on YoTV, even though she had matured by then. She left TV for two years.
While she was studying at the University of Johannesburg, she interned at SABC1 in the PR department.
After rejections at auditions, Huli started working on a talk show, The Hulisani Ravele Show. She joined Praekelt Consulting, a digital agency, as an account executive in 2010. She climbed the ranks and left as a project manager in February 2014.
Huli did Vodacom Millionaires in 2011. She also worked for a digital agency, whose clients included the organisers of the South African Music Awards. She left in 2014.
In June 2014, Hulisani received a call from news channel ANN7 to host I Am South African. She also landed a gig on a radio show on UJFM and Vodacom Millionaires. She also hosted the live broadcast of Tata Madiba’s 84th birthday in Polokwane.
Hulisani marked her 20th anniversary in the industry in 2017. She has a company, Tshimbiluni Productions, a subsidiary of The Hulisani Ravele Group. She was a voiceover artist on Vuzu’s entertainment news feature V News.
She launched her talk show, Purpose, Power, Impact, on 30 September 2025.
Personal Life
Hulisani Ravele was in a relationship with Sipho Ngwenya, formerly known as Psyfo. They dated for over 10 years before deciding to split in 2017.
Her father passed away in 2012 while working on a car, after the jack lost its balance and the vehicle fell on him. She has a few tattoos on her body.
